"Heartland Cusine" was conceived as a weekly thirty-minute behind the scenes program of a New American haute cusine restaurant. We will follow the food each week as it journeys from the farm, through the kitchen, and onto the table.

Hosed be critically acclaimed Twin Cities, Minnesota, chef, Lenny Russo, "Heartland Cuisine" brings the viewer each week to a small, family farm somewhere in the Midwest. Once there, the journey begins with an in-depth look at how the food is cultivated and harvested using traditional and sustainable agricultural methods. Once back at the restaurant, the food is prepared and served to the guests. Once back at the restaurant, the food is prepEach evening's meal is crafted that day as the chef and his team take inventory of their ingredients while allowing the farm to dictate the scope of the menu. A commitment to wholesomeness, purity, and conservation, as well as a burning desire to help preserve endangered traditions of the farm are the underlying themes of the program.

It is Chef Russo's hope that through this program, he will be able to spread the message about how the food we choose to eat affects the health and well being of our poanet and how the choices we make now will be with us for generations to come.
